“In the pursuit of excellence, inspiration is the guiding light.” As educators, teachers, and parents, we endeavour to light the flame of curiosity in our children. Once this flame is lit, we witness the transformative power of learning.
Parents are vital stakeholders in the academic journeys of their wards, especially during the crucial years of the Council Examinations.
Hence, an Orientation Programme for the parents of Standards 10 and 12 was held in the school auditorium on the morning of 13th June. The objective of the event was to equip parents with the information and insights necessary to support their children’s academic journey wholeheartedly.
The event began on a solemn note, with the Principal, Mr. Alistair R. A. Freese, leading the audience in a collective prayer for the repose of the souls lost in the tragic incident that occurred in Ahmedabad yesterday.
Following the traditional praise and worship, Mrs. Mercy Stanley, Associate Coordinator of ISC, read from the Bible, and Mrs. Elizabeth Angiras, Associate Coordinator of ICSE, delivered the opening prayer.
The Principal then introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Debmita Dutta, a renowned parenting consultant. Dr. Dutta captivated the audience with her insightful talk on how the brain governs our emotions, the importance of evolving our parenting styles over time, and strategies to manage teenagers both at home and in school.
This was followed by the Principal’s address, in which he apprised parents of the school’s ethos, academic framework, and essential rules and regulations. A brief Q&A session allowed parents to raise pertinent queries and receive clarifications. He also introduced the ISC and ICSE faculty to the gathering.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Evelyn Sumana, Associate Coordinator of the Senior Section. The compère, Mrs. Neelika Joel, gracefully concluded the session with her closing remarks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their active participation.
