Theme: The Phoenix Rises Again
The 17th edition of Resurgence 2026, the prestigious Inter-School Commerce and Economics Fest hosted by Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, was held on 28 and 29 August 2026 across the school campus. With the theme “The Phoenix Rises Again,” the fest brought together nearly 1,000 participants from 10 institutions, with the participation of Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie, adding a distinctive dimension to this year’s edition.
The fest featured 13 meticulously curated events, including Dalal Street, Find X, Macroverse, Area 51, Counsel Royale, Best Manager, Meltdown, Hotel Management, Fourth Wall, Break Point, Beyond the Tank, Resurgent Times, and Paradox of Market. Find X, the flagship event, challenged participants to demonstrate analytical thinking, creativity, strategic decision-making, communication and business acumen.
The Opening Ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mr. M. Reza, Principal Dr. Alistair R. A. Freese, Vice Principal Mr. Divyanathan J., and Mr. P. Johnson, Treasurer, Bishop Cotton Boys’ School. The ceremony commenced with an opening prayer by Reverend Y. Justin, setting a meaningful tone for the two-day celebration. The programme featured vibrant performances, a special presentation by the Event Heads, a spectacular laser show and an electrifying performance by the ISC Band.
The success of Resurgence 2026 was the result of the tireless efforts of the Organising Committee, Event Heads, student coordinators, volunteers and staff. Special appreciation is due to Vineet Muradia T., Head of Resurgence; Daksh A. Singhvi, Overall In-charge; and Tarun V. Devasi, Associate Head of Resurgence, whose leadership, commitment and perseverance were instrumental in the successful execution of the fest.
Following two days of spirited competition, Christ Junior College emerged as the Overall Winners, while Christ PU College secured the Overall Runners-Up position. Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie, was honoured with the special award for the Best Disciplined Delegation.
The Closing Ceremony, compered by Dushyanth B. V., brought the 17th edition to a fitting conclusion, with reflections on the journey, a Vote of Thanks and the formal declaration of closure.
Heartfelt appreciation is extended to Dr. Alistair R. A. Freese, Principal, and Mr. Divyanathan J., Vice Principal, for their unwavering encouragement and support. Special thanks are also due to Mr. P. Johnson, Treasurer; Mrs. Mercy Stanley, ISC Coordinator; Mrs. Neelika Joel, Associate ISC Coordinator; Mrs. Rajini Clara Sumathi, Head of the Economics Department; Mr. Kariyanna H. S., Head of the Commerce Department; and the entire Commerce and Economics faculty for their invaluable guidance and commitment.
Resurgence 2026 was more than a competition—it was a celebration of resilience, enterprise, ambition, creativity and youthful leadership. Through dedication, teamwork and perseverance, the spirit of the theme was brought vividly to life: the Phoenix had indeed risen again.
