Time: 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Participants: Students of Classes 10 & 12

The insightful workshop “How to Beat Examination Stress” was designed to equip students of Classes 10 and 12 with practical strategies for managing stress during the examination period. The session focused on empowering students with techniques to foster calmness, confidence, and resilience as they prepare for their upcoming board exams.

The session commenced with light breathing exercises aimed at promoting relaxation and improving focus, centered around the mantra: “Relaxation is the key to reducing stress.”

In her address, Ms. Prabha Thakur emphasized the paradox of modern conveniences that, while enhancing physical comfort, often lead to rising mental stress levels. Students today face demanding schedules, constant intellectual exertion, peer pressure, social media influences, and familial expectations—all contributing to anxiety, self-doubt, and exhaustion. Recognizing this, the session delved into effective strategies to manage stress constructively.

Ms. Thakur explored various types of stress and provided relatable, actionable techniques to cope effectively. She highlighted the importance of a structured, goal-oriented approach to life, which can help students build resilience. The following practical tips were shared during the workshop:

  1. Organize your day to include regular and manageable revision, ensuring effective time management.
  2. Maintain a well-balanced diet, prioritizing nuts, fruits, and vegetables to nourish both the body and mind.
  3. Ensure at least 7 hours of sleep each night to boost cognitive functioning, memory retention, and stress management.
  4. Incorporate relaxation techniques into your daily routine, allocating time to unwind and rejuvenate.

The interactive session engaged students through activities and discussions, allowing them to ask questions, share concerns, and clarify doubts. Ms. Thakur encouraged students to believe in their abilities, stressing that confidence is key to overcoming stress and achieving success.

The session proved to be a valuable experience, inspiring students to adopt healthier habits, develop resilience, and approach examinations with a positive mindset.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Principal, Mr. Alistair R A Freese, for organizing this transformative workshop. It not only empowered students to manage stress effectively but also inspired them to embrace and enjoy their academic journey.
